Cotter Pin ASME B18.8.1 - Clear Zinc Plated Carbon Steel

Cotter pins are wire formed fasteners that are used externally in holed applications. Cotter pins are low-cost, secure, and highly versatile fasteners that have been around for centuries and are used virtually everywhere. Inserting cotter pins is a simple process, as they can be installed quickly and with no special tools. Most cotter pins are able to be easily removed and reused, saving time and money. Cotter Pins are commonly used to lock slotted nuts into place in high-vibration applications. The pin slides through the bolt’s tap hole and in between the slots on the nut, preventing the nut from backing out.
